"Lessons From the Prodigal Son," By Byron Norrod
Title: "Lessons from the Prodigal Son"
- What are the 3 cannot's of Luke chapter 14?
- What are the 3 lessons we learn from the parables that are covered in Luke 15?
- WHAT DOES PRODIGAL' EVEN MEAN?
- Why does the Prodigal Son leave?
- Why does he return?
- What is the reaction of the Father?
- How did the brother of the Prodigal Son respond upon his return?
Here is how Byron opens his Message.
Good morning everyone and Happy Sabbath Day. Today I am going talk about something that's not even in the Bible, let's turn to Luke 14. In Luke 14 Jesus gives us the victory
conditions, he tells us how to win, he tells us how to win the prize by giving us the instructions on how to capture the flag. This section of Luke 14 is known as counting the cost or the three cannot's.
Jesus gives us instructions on what we must do - so that we can qualify to be his disciples. In Chapter 15 he gives us three parables that are about loss and redemption, today we are going to focus on the third parable, like I said it's not even in the Bible and I'll tell you what that means in just a little bit.
The first thing I'd like to do is to focus on the foundation of Luke 14, the three cannot's. Then we will cover the two parables that come before the parable of the prodigal son, which is where we will spend most of our time. As we end this message today I'll I will tell you why you and I should be prodigal, we should be very prodigal.
