"Vision of the Kingdom," by Steven Greene
Greetings Brethren,
Tonight, I want to talk about the “Vision of the Kingdom.” The Vision of the Kingdom is something that I think takes us past the times of sorrows, the great tribulation, and gives us a different perspective of what God is doing. You know every hardship and every distress that we have in the world is but a moment in time and it will soon disappear. In these days, as God has told us that the evil things must come upon the world, but He's promised that they won't endure. Eventually, all these things that are evil, all the trials in our lives, they will be a forgotten memory.
In Isaiah 54:4, it says that Jesus carries our sorrow, and I want to ask, do you believe it? If we do believe that, then dwelling upon the evils of this world, the times of trials, sorrows, and the things that we endure in this life is insignificant because it's just a brief experience in all of eternity and it will pass away.
Now to that end, Jesus Christ also gives us a Comforter, the Holy Spirit. It is with that Comforter that we endure, and we can move past and move through those times of grief, sadness, wretchedness, and distress that come in our lives. He does that because He wants us to focus on something more wonderful, more glorious, and more eternal.
The events of the Day of Trumpets, Atonement and Tabernacles occur over a period of time, and while they portray a terrible, bitter anguish that comes upon the world, they also prophesy of a wonderful incredible promise of God, that is His Kingdom. Now the Holy Days are more than warnings they are a vision of what is to come in the very end of the days.
Interestingly, there is nothing else in the Bible that is described in more vivid and greater detail than these Holy Days. So, I think that is due, in large part, to God wanting to give us more than just words; he wants us to have a painting in our hearts and minds, a picture of what He is bringing. So, I think that reviewing this story is something that will refresh the canvas of our minds. The vision of the Kingdom of God is much more than just words. It comes to us in pictures, in visions, honors, and in glories. It comes to us in miracles and in the powers of God. So tonight, I want to talk about and go through, and paint that picture for all of us, again the “Vision of the Kingdom.” Let's start in II Corinthians 12:2.
